I was at an address delivered by Lady Susan Rice, CEO of Lloyds Bank Group Scotland and also a Non Exec Director of the Bank of England. She was very emphatic about the fact that bankers have to work thei way back to public trust. More importantly according to her is the fact that the trust has to be built through investment in relationship building with customers. This is not too far from what you are advising here.
Your reference to the fact that businesses should see their business model as contributing to society and in the process, profit making is I feel the best way to view business in society. Thats why compaies like Unilever, Procter and Gamble and recently, Dyson (to mentian a few) have been really successful. They havent put profits first.

I think the financial services industry has sort of created a monster for itself. There needs to be a lot of investment in building trust.obinna igwebuikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07039579290483534500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1338737959612989532.post-36658281495654462792010-11-29T20:38:01.097+01:002010-11-29T20:38:01.097+01:00I would not put too much blame at the foot of the ...I would not put too much blame at the foot of the bankers. Most people would have behaved in similar fashion if place in a situation where policing is weak to non existent. Most of the blame should be dumped on the regulator especially given that the fraud in the industry went on for so longUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10925660921070501209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1338737959612989532.post-22214225189878326252010-11-29T19:59:43.591+01:002010-11-29T19:59:43.591+01:00Dear Olu,
